Words and Trees Expressions

Lol, why am I starting this blog? Well it’s a spin-off from an idea I had years ago. You could call this the antithesis of my other blog Words and Trees. I created the original blog in 2011, but I had the name in my head and heart for a while. Words and Trees or should I say books, were an integral part of my life since I was a child. Now that I am older, I feel the need to express myself in more creative and sometimes descriptive ways.

In May I purchased a sewing machine, like many others, and sewed for the second time in a long time. The first time I used a sewing machine, a friend set up everything and I sewed a pillow over 20 plus years ago. Fast forward to mid year 2020. I began with the dreaded mask and I discovered fabric. I will not disclose how much I’ve purchased, but let’s just say it’s a lot. Oh let’s get back to fabric. I happened upon Spoonflower.com and found *F**k You fabric in a pinstripe style. At the time I was feeling kind of down and picked up a book about weight loss. BRB! Okay I am back! I just spent 30 minutes looking for the book in my history, dastardly electronic books. Anyway, in chapter 9 of the book, the writer tells “you” to “ef” what people say to you regarding your journey. And that’s when I started making masks with the expletive fabric. And then I thought, “What if I dedicated a line of accessories with expressive fabric choices?” And that’s when Expressions was born. I am still about sharing stories and poems that encourage and uplift, but what if you need to scream at yourself and your circumstances and work your way through a tough spot? Sometimes looking at words can start a conversation in your head that helps you win, in spite of...

So, maybe you’d like to express yourself. I like to hide my expletives inside of accessories, as I am not looking to offend others as much as I am trying to remind and kickstart myself.
